The program is interested in helping families build caring relationships, strengthen support systems, and find resources to help their families’ homes to be safer and more secure for their children. Open to all school age youth in Wilson County with programs designed for the active youth. Club activities include homework help, arts and crafts and many others. Educational & technical and character & leadership programs are offered as well as programs on drug prevention, peer pressure and teen pregnancy, just to name a few. Drop-In activities such as pool, ping-pong, foosball, chess and checkers are played in the game room. Field trips are made to local points of interest such as fishing, cookouts and sporting events. For the athletic youth, there are organized teams in basketball, tackle football and cheerleading.

Wilson Youth Council focuses on leadership development by putting teens in action through service, community and volunteerism, community service projects, senior projects, community events, meetings and conferences. A REFERRAL ONLY AGENCY that provides prevention and intervention services to youth ages 6-17. These services include: Volunteer One-on-One, Couple and Team Mentoring, Community Service/Restitution for Juvenile Court and Teen Court, and Gang Graffiti Removal. Referral sources include: Juvenile Justice, Department of Social Services, Wilson County Schools and Law Enforcement Agencies, Teen Court, parents/guardians and other youth serving agencies. Our mission: To positively develop our youth to be successful youth today and future adults; rehabilitating youth offenders and compensating victims of juvenile crimes.
